As the Account Manager at The Thorburn Group, you bring experience, enthusiasm and inspiration to the agency, leading clients on challenging social media and digital projects. In partnership with the Account Director, you will solve client challenges, manage key clients, lead projects, teams and meetings – facilitating communications with clients and helping formulate ideas that have an impact. You are a go-getter with a can-do work ethic, fearless in taking on challenging assignments. In addition to leading clients, you’ll work with outside media partners in media planning and execution and overseeing smaller projects with guidance from an account mentor. You don’t shy away from commitment and doing what’s right while juggling client expectations, timelines and emotions. And, you’re fully aware that no day is really the same…that means you’re able to roll with situations which aren’t always clear, have some ambiguity and easily handle changes mid-flight with a laugh and a “let’s do this” approach. Some of your job responsibilities:

  • Lead paid social media campaigns and projects, using social media marketing and paid placement tools
  • Lead asset creative and campaign development
  • Manage and adjust client expectations as needed
  • Manage all partners on a project
  • Work with Account Director on all account operations
  • Work with a team on developing client relationships

Requirements:

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Detailed knowledge of social media marketing platforms
  • Pulse on news, trends and developments in social media marketing
  • Understanding of social media reporting, bonus for SproutSocial and other platforms
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, search and keyword research
  • Natural collaborator, leader and team player
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Aptitude for financial analysis and budget management
  • Acute attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Responsive and able to meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust as circumstances change; this is agency life.
  • Able to travel as requested
  • An easy smile and grace under fire, when there is a fire

Qualifications:

  • 3-4 years digital media agency experience or client-side social media marketing experience
  • Strong understanding of branding, paid digital and social media and all platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications or related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office software, Salesforce, Basecamp, Google Drive
  • Bonus points for Google Adwords certification and/or other certification
