Business Development Director, Marketing Research Services

Stamats Communications, Inc. is seeking a professional to increase revenue for our marketing research service offerings by identifying and selling to prospective clients, maintaining relationships with past clients, and acting as a thought leader on marketing intelligence technologies and trends.

This position requires an understanding of the full client engagement including situational analysis, technical knowledge in marketing research and the ability to identify a comprehensive data-driven solution. We emphasize a consultative sales approach that demonstrates a detailed understanding of each clients’ needs and unique situation, effectively identifies the core/fundamental challenge, describes an optimal research-based solution, and offers clear justification for the proposed research process.

A qualified candidate would have:

  • Experience in complex, consultative sales that intentionally address and resolve client business issues.
  • The ability to translate a client’s needs into integrated research and custom content syndication.
  • A solid executive presence, high energy and professional maturity
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A naturally curious and strategic mind, with the ability to think and respond quickly
  • Proven success prospecting and developing telephone sales.
  • Fluency in Salesforce (not required, but preferred)

We require a candidate have:

  • A minimum of five years of marketing research sales experience with proven sales results. An existing book of business is preferred.
  • Previous experience designing and executing marketing research
  • Prior experience in an entrepreneurial environment, ideally in a leadership position
  • A track record for developing business
  • A Bachelor’s degree

We would prefer this position be based in our Minneapolis office. An alternate option would be our Cedar Rapids, IA offices. Due to the possibility of considerable travel for engaging prospective and past clients, sales professionals with proven record of success working from an in-home office may also be considered.
